Do you have fear in your heart? Is worry, stress, and anxiety a regular part of your day? If so, there is hope for you. You can eradicate unnecessary worry, stress, and fear by following some of the guidelines we discussed in our Invincible You Series on Love University. Here’s what you can do to enjoy a calm, peaceful, and joyful life.

1. Create a fear to reality journal.  In a daily journal, write down the things that you’re afraid of and then record what happens in real life.   When you do this, you will realize that most of what you feared didn’t happen in the catastrophic way you expected. Things usually turn out well—or at least not as bad as you thought.  This realization gives you a great sense of relief and the comforting thought that “Everything will be OK after all.”

2. Ask the right questions. Instead of asking “What can go wrong?” ask yourself, “What would I do if I had nothing to fear?”  When you ask this question, you immediately reverse the paradigm—from fear to belief. Now you start to think of all the things you can do (confident belief) instead of all the things you can’t do (fear). With this new mindset, you will have more energy and motivation to accomplish your goals and desires.

3. Take action despite the thought (fear).  You may delay or postpone going for what you really want—relationship, career, lifestyle change—because you’re afraid of what could happen if you fail. Your winning strategy is to do what you really want to do, despite the fear (thought).  Ask that attractive person out on a date, apply for the job you desire, start the business, activity, or venture you’ve always dreamed of.  When you do what you want, despite the fear, you will have increased confidence, and you will be well on your way to achieving your dreams.

Yes, you can master your irrational and unnecessary fear. All you have to do is keep a fear to reality journal, ask the right questions, and take action despite the thought (fear). When you do these things on a consistent basis, you will take back control of your mind, and you will live a relaxed and enjoyable life.
